Backstage gossip from DEFCON, Night 1

Posted by Dave Felcher on 26 Jul 2016

The main event of Night 1 of DEFCON was a brutal arena-wide affair, one for the history books...

[DEFCON SPOILERS WITHIN]

The wild conclusion of Bronson Box versus Eugene Dewey saw Boxer decisively put away the valiant Gaming Guru after hoisting him and dropping him with a very unexpected HIGHLAND HANGOVER to pick up the clean pinfall victory. The Hangover of course being the finishing maneuver of one of the OTHER notable Scottish born superstars on the DEFIANCE roster, Andy Murray. I can answer my colleges Darren Keebler and Angus Skaaland's questions about if these two are familiar with one another predating their DEFIANCE careers... and the answer is a definite yes. Before either man had managed to make a name for himself in wrestling, when Murray was but a local star gaining momentum and Boxer just beginning his career in the squared circle the two shared a ring a numerous occasions in their native Scotland. Rumor being, Boxer has apparently NEVER bested Murray... by the time Bronson started developing as a real competitor and a real threat Andy had already moved on to bigger and better things outside of the UK. Leaving Boxer to sit and stew in his losing record against the elder Murray brother. It's not but in the last year the two have shared a roster or two together in both UTA for a cup of coffee and now obviously here in DEFIANCE.

Now this is just speculation here from this point. But as much time as this nosey part-time reporter part-time IT guy has shared an employer with Bronson Box, I've come to understand a thing or two about the guy. You add that rumored "unblemished record" over the Wargod to the fact Andy's little brother just accomplished the ONE THING Bronson couldn't ever quiet manage... beating Eric Dane in a DEFIANCE ring... I think the Brothers Murray better think about perhaps circling the wagons. Because with his issues with Eugene put to bed, personally I'd take that Highland Hangover as a clear message from Bronson Box... "get ready."

But that's just one IT guys opinion.

Felcher out.
