Sawyer on Playoffs 1!

Sawyer weighs in on Playoffs, Christenson, Light, The Oncoming Storm and more!
[On his way out of the arena, Tom Sawyer was caught up to by an official DEFIANCE Interview Drone by the name of Lester Gibbons, and was kind enough to answer a few questions about the fallout from the Playoffs.]
Gibbons:
“Tom, despite not being in the Playoffs, are you following who has won and who has lost?”
Sawyer:
Of course! Getting to watch a dream match like Light vs Box, as well as fantastic slugfests like Heidi vs Kort, Dentari vs Turner and White vs Claira was well worth being here tonight. And it helps that I picked up another win for my record.
Gibbons:
Speaking of Heidi Christenson, she's bound for the semifinals against Alceo Dentari. I know you and Heidi have had... words in the past. Do you want to see Dentari knock her out of the tournament?
Sawyer:
I don't, and never have wished true physical pain, hurt, or trauma on Heidi Christenson, unless it was inflicted by me beating her in a match. I just believe that she does herself, DEFIANCE, and her fans a great disservice by not being more than she is. Sure, her crusade to bring down EVO is nice, but she's also been undermining her own ability to be the role model for every little girl out there who is told she's too butch, every little boy who thinks she's akin to a goddess still on this Earth, every teenager who is too effeminate and thinks that Heidi is way cooler than some musclehead like Box or Light.
In short, Heidi Christenson could be an icon, a role model for thousands, millions of kids and people. And she chooses to let her allegiances and her alignment be... fluid. To better influence her career, better set up her chances to be a success.
Well, I think that a person should stand for more than just a win streak and a list of titles. I think Heidi should be the most dazzlingly bright, brilliant white-hatted star in the sky. Instead, you've got Hydra, you've got the Untouchables back in the day...
If she earns her win, great for her. And if not... Well, hopefully Dentari won't take it due to cheating.
Gibbons:
And what about Light vs St. Sure?
Sawyer:
We already saw that match once, and it was beyond, beyond, beyond beyond. I'm really excited to see another round at it. Light is probably one of the biggest stars in our sport right now, and I love watching him work. His match with Box had me sitting on the floor in front of my monitor like I did when I was a kid. Stellar stuff.
Gibbons:
I saw that you had words with Bronson Box over twitter... Something about a strap match?
Sawyer:
Yup. It was fun, taunting the raging bull like that. He's a crazy asshole and I fully intend to stand up to him, as soon as the stars align. And with him pickin' up FDJ's services, it looks like tag teams are the way to go to get to fight ol' Boxer. I may need to make some phone calls.
Gibbons:
Are we gonna see the Foreshadowing reunite?
Sawyer:
Lucas Harper has made it clear to me that he will manage me, he will train me, but he isn't willing to wrestle right now. He was nearly paralyzed by Jaymz Watkins in the WWA, and it shook him. Understandably so.
Gibbons:
Then the only thing left to ask about is... How's the resistance coming against the oncoming storm?
Sawyer:
I need men to stand shoulder to shoulder with me and form a breakwater. If the wave is too big, it'll overwhelm anything, but with the right mix of grit, determination, bravery and might... Well...
What I really need is a chat with Eric Dane. Eric, I know there's nobody who watches DEFIANCE closer than you do. And I know that you've been in this business long enough that you have the same Spider-Sense I do. You sense that something nasty's goin' down too.
And only you can help me stop it. I don't need the Only Star to throw the boots back on, as nice as that'd be. I need your power, your might, your attitude and your political ken. If you truly want DEFIANCE to thrive an' survive, Eric... Give me a call. You know how to reach me.
[And Tom Sawyer headed off for his motorcycle. He might not wear the colors, but the man was still the Rider.]
