Opportunity Knocks on the next DEFtv!

Posted by Lance Warner on 2 Dec 2015

Opportunity knocks for one of DEFIANCE’s newest stars! Just signed by Kelly Evans earlier today for the next episode of DEFtv, a first-time encounter between two world-traveled veterans of the sport takes place. Click after the jump and find out about which competitors you will see go one-on-one and stick around for some thoughts from one of the competitors!

Only three matches now into his DEFIANCE career, the former ACW World Champion, “Lord of the Skies” Andy Sharp will receive the opportunity of a lifetime when he steps into the ring with none other than former two-time FIST of DEFIANCE and World Trios title holder, “The Ego Buster” Dan Ryan! While Sharp has been campaigning for a shot at the Southern Heritage Championship held by Curtis Penn, Kelly decided to shake things up a bit and throw Andy into the deep end of the pool with this challenge.   We had the chance to get a few words from Andy Sharp via Skype Chat earlier today while he has been on a tour with Japanese promotion, Kyoto PRO, and here’s what he had to say about the match.

[Cut to a camera phone shot of none other than Andy Sharp checking in from his cell phone, holed up in a tiny hotel room in Kyoto, Japan. Dressed in his new “JUST LOOK UP!” DEFIANCE hoodie, Sharp takes a moment to collect his words before he begins.]

Andy Sharp:
It is 2:24 in Kyoto, Japan right now and it was just a few minutes ago where DEFIANCE HQ phoned me to tell me about my next match on DEFtv. With all due respect to Felton Bigsby and Reinhardt Hoffman who were great competitors in their own right… this is HUGE. This is one of wrestling's most decorated men in the sport today... "The Ego Buster" Dan Ryan.

[Sharp laughs to himself.]

Andy Sharp:
I’m sure there are some people out there who think I’m off my rocker, but I didn’t come to DEFIANCE without doing my homework… I know who Dan Ryan is and I know what kind of man he is, too. Like me, he’s a proud competitor. Unlike me, he’s a big, nasty bastard that has no qualms about destroying the competition. Look what he did once to Virginia Quell, who was collateral damage in his blood feud against Bronson Box. More recently, look at what he did to Frank Holiday at Acts of DEFIANCE and that was because he didn't like the way he conducted himself. He’s dangerous plain and simple.

[Sharp looks at the phone again and continues.]

Andy Sharp:
I’m sure that when he gets this news, he won’t bat an eye. His goal is taking the FIST of DEFIANCE from Eugene Dewey and everything else - even his own sister-in-law – is secondary right now. But I’m not wasting this time just to psycho-analyze the guy; not my thing. He has his wants, but I have mine, too. In case I didn’t make this clear enough last week, I’m here to challenge myself. I want to test myself against DEFIANCE’s biggest and its best! And if that opportunity is here and now against one of DEFIANCE’s most dangerous men, I’m not going to run… I’m gonna JUMP.

[The Lord of the Skies pulls the phone in closer just for a moment.]

Andy Sharp:
Ryan, just like I've shown countless others for over a decade, you’re gonna find out first-hand that I’m pretty good at that kind of thing.

[Black.]
