BRAZEN Presents: Wednesday And Thursday Night Ligh... er, Fights

Posted by Lance Warner on 23 Oct 2020

NEWS AND NOTES:

--The train known as BRAZEN Onslaught Champion Gerardo Villalobos can’t be stopped! Longtime BRAZEN veteran Thomas Slaine found that out the hard way! Young Finn Dunson tried to also wrestle the title away after fighting Gerardo to a time limit draw on our last Double Shot. This time, however, Villalobos took the win… which led to a MASSIVE assault by The Clan of Gentlemen! The GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY BATTLE CLUSTER winner Paul Dunson has finally announced the time and place of his choosing - he is cashing in for a shot at the Onslaught Title at the next CLASH of the BRAZEN! With one more Double Shot between now and then, can Gerardo keep the belt until then?

--A HUGE Best of Five Series between two of BRAZEN’s best and brightest started on this weekend between Declan “DEC4L” Alexander and Doug “Moonshine” Matton! The first match was a shining example of the future of BRAZEN! Match One went to Alexander after landing his Play of the Game (Cutter!) However, night two was in the favor of Matton in an equally thrilling match! Both matches went close to 15 minutes, but the second one went to Matton when he reversed the Play of the Game into a Backslide for a two-count, only then to catch Alexander with a surprise Beer-Can-Rana into the pin for the win! Both men are tied at one a piece with Match Three and Four set for the next Double Shot! If we go to a Match Five, it will take place at CLASH!

--The World’s Nicest Tag Team came back in a big win and won a Tag Team Battle Royale on Night One to earn a shot at the BRAZEN Tag Team Titles, currently held by The Biggest Best Boys of DEFIANCE’s Dex Joy and former BRAZEN Champion Nathaniel Eye!

--The beef between “The Lead” Jesse Harrison and “The Wrestling Bear” Jack Mace continued. Harrison and his “Supporting Cast” of Heavy Artillery won a six-man tag. However on night two, Mace and Harrison fought to a double count-out, leading to an impromptu six-man tag with Mace, his pal “Mellow Yellow” George Othello and brand new bud, Strong AF! Strong AF proved the difference maker in that one when he hit the Deadly AF (Jackhammer) on Bobby Horrigan for the win! Things were not settled between Harrison and the former BRAZEN Champion Jack Mace, but we’ll see where this road leads.

--The Viking War Cult got a measure of revenge for their loss at the last CLASH over BRAGG and BADASS. This time, BRAGG and company lost to the Cult. This issue between them will be settled at CLASH of the BRAZEN in an eight-man elimination tag! BRAGG and BADASS are down one man, but the mystery partner will be revealed then.

--Jack Harmen continues to run afoul of the first BRAZEN Champion Reinhardt Hoffman. After scoring victories over the weekend on fellow former DEF alum Troy Matthews and one over Rhys Collins, he was assaulted by Hoffman, Collins and Gunther Adler after the match on night two. Hoffman challenged him to find a team and they would be picking one as well! Teams appear to be the theme for the next CLASH with an announcement to be made on that front very soon.

--The Biggest Best Boys -- especially Dex Joy -- can’t seem to be stopped! After they unseated the first champions, Les Enfants Terribles, Archer Silver and High Flyer IV sat on the sidelines as they defended the titles successfully on BOTH nights! First, taking on the very game Gentlemen’s Agreement before defeating them, followed up with a BLOCKBUSTER main event against The World’s Nicest Tag Team! That match was said to be the very highlight of the latest Double Shot, going almost 20 minutes before Dex and Nate stopped Cole and Victorious from the win. After that match, LET came out and announced they’ll be granted a rematch at CLASH of the BRAZEN for the Tag Team Championships! Dex and Nathaniel agreed and sent the crowd home happy after a failed assault by LET led to The Biggest Best Boys sending them packing from the ring!

--Killjoy continued to show his complete dominance over all since unseating Nathaniel Eye for the BRAZEN Championship. On Night One, Strong AF stepped up to the plate including some new moves he had been working on including a ugly, but effective Diving Splash only got a two-count. Killjoy turned the tides on him with the FreeFall for the loss. Night Two proved to be a slugfest between him and a mystery challenger, revealed as KLEIN! Flex Kruger tried his hand two weeks ago at taking the belt from Killjoy, only to come up short, but his fellow PCPer, Klein, gave a gutsy performance! The brawl ended with a double-countout thanks to the rest of LET attacking Klein to help Killjoy keep the title, but after PCP sent them from the ring, The D of all people said he was following the lead of his partner Elise Ares and her recent meteoric ascent and challenged the massive Killjoy to a title match at CLASH of the BRAZEN! Killjoy simply nodded and accepted the challenge!

After two nights of blockbuster developments, CLASH of the BRAZEN is starting to take shape!
