Donovan challenges fan?

Early this morning, Wrestle X-treme Magazine was finally able to catch up to DEFIANCE wrestling’s Jake Donovan to get his version of the altercation that took place in Big Pie Pizza in New Orleans late last week.
Donovan, usually charismatic and outspoken, seemed none too pleased to answer questions regarding the incident and was rather brusque in his response:
“I was trying to eat a pizza. I was sitting in the back of the place, with a hat pulled low, minding my own business, just another guy trying to have a meal. Now I could have been a complete asshole when that kid came up to me but I wasn’t, I signed an autograph for him ‘cause he was a little kid and didn’t know any better, but that guy coming over afterwards and demanding an autograph, that was bullshit. First of all, I am under no obligation to give autographs, especially not to people who can’t even be bothered to A) wait until I’ve finished eating, and B) have some manners and actually say please, and secondly I am a person, damnit, not an object for your amusement.“
“Just because you pay money to come to a show to see me doesn’t mean you own me. My private time is my own and I owe none of that to anyone that I don’t choose to give it to. I am not a trained monkey. I am a human being with a life outside of what I do for a living. You asking me for my autograph or to paint your face or pose for a picture when I’m in the airport or having lunch would be the same as me walking up to you and expecting you to do whatever it is your job is when you’re out with your family. Wrestling is my profession and I am proud to be able to go out to the ring and fight in front of you, but if you can’t respect my privacy, than we will have issues.”
“To the fan from Big Pie, I dare you to come on down to the next show and meet me in the ring, let’s see how brave you are with the world watching and no pitchers of beer to dump on my head.”
We want to thank Jake for taking the time to speak with us, and caution the mystery ‘fan’ and we use that word loosely, not to take Jake up on his offer to meet him in the ring.
