Lance Warner sits down with Jane Katze

“I’m an advocate, not some sort of handler. My client is his own man, he does as he will. If Miss Evans was unclear on that fact I’m truly sorry.” Jane Katze was all smiles backstage after the Aftershock pay per view special. She took the time to sit down with me and expound on her new business relationship with The Original DEFIANT.
“When Ed first brought him into our inner circle, I was against it. Boxer was… volatile. I was very protective of Ed, and last several times he’d tangled with Box he was stabbed and beaten, so you can imagine my worry.” When asked what changed, Jane was more than a little coy. “I love being in the presence of exceptional men, Mr. Warner. Edward White for all his faults was an exceptional man. After spending time with Bronson I knew, in time, he too was an exceptional man… in very different ways than Ed. I realized not in spite of but because of his wild reputation he was a man worth my… attention.”
She continues “Ed was always very short sighted with Boxer. Ed liked his allies very tame, very subservient. He saw Box as a dog he could potentially leash and train to attack on command. Bronson Box is much too smart for that, I think you’ll agree. Bronson is an asset. One Eric Dane, Elijah Goldman, Jeff Andrews, Cito Conarri and Edward White all criminally underutilized. Did you listen to the crowd out there tonight, Lance? Before he physically eviscerated Dusty Griffith and then verbally eviscerated the fans, he had those very same fans eating… out of the palm… of his hand. Without a word. Lance. Without a word and with a song written a hundred and thirteen years ago Box pulled the loudest reaction this building, Edward’s temple, has ever heard. Possibly in DEFIANCE history.”
Jane smiles that sweet smile “I, Jane Katze of Katze & Associates, is going about the oh so simple task of not making the mistake Eric Dane. And Elijah Goldman. And Jeff Andrews. And Cito Conarri. And Edward White all made.” She leans in close at this point, I’m a little sweaty and uncomfortable at this point. She leans in so close I can feel her breath on my ear and smell her perfume.
“I’m going to trust in Bronson Box.” And with a soft peck on the cheek, Jane Katze left me sitting there, tape recorder still rolling. And honestly? Needing a cigarette. This reporter isn’t quite sure what sparked this change in Jane Katze, but this new Jane working behind The Wargod, of all people? That’s honestly a terrifying proposition.
