Donovan aids in Park Cleanup
Posted by Jake Donovan on 31 May 2014
Since returning to DEFIANCE wrestling, Jake Donovan has proven to be a positive ambassador for the often misunderstood wrestling promotion.
This morning Donovan took part in the ‘Take Back Our Parks’ campaign held in Chicago, joining together with residence of the area to clean up the trash and graffiti from Elmwood Park. Armed with trash bags, paint and scrub brushes, Donovan spent the day helping in the effort to clean up the park. At one point Donovan was spotted with a child on his shoulders, helping the youngster reach the rim on a basketball court, in order to hang a new net. He was also spotted aiding in the effort to build new, safer playground equipment for the children to play on. Several children were lucky enough to have their faces painted by Jake, and proudly worked alongside the DEFIANCE athlete, who was sporting the face paint as well. When asked why he devoted so much of his free time to helping causes such as this one, Donovan simply shrugged and stated, “Someone has to.”
