Title: Doing my part
Featuring: Tyson Burke
Date: 2/22/13
Location: Promo Booth
[Tyson’s eyes widen, his ears cannot believe the words that he is hearing. Curtis Penn exits the promo booth grinning ear to ear. Tyson grabs the shoulder of Curt as he walks past.]
Burke:
Stupid… really fucking stupid.
[Curt brushes his partners hand off of his shoulder.]
Penn:
Deal with it.
[Curtis walks away as Tyson runs into the promo booth, hoping that he can cast his promo before any of the Good Fight watches Curt make a fool of himself.]
Burke:
I do apologize for the rashness of my partner’s words.
[Burke cuts his dark brown eyes towards the door that he just entered.]
Burke:
He’s a tad misguided these days.
[He takes a small pause in order to sort things out in his mind before he begins again.]
Burke:
Where Curt sees ya’ll as a group of “goodie two shoes” I see ya’ll as a group of men much like myself and Luke in such an aspect that ya’ll same the same fundamental principles that the Mike Sloan Extravaganza share. Ya’ll are fearless when oppression strikes, such as the dictatorship of Jeff Andrews and his silver platter fed friends. You all will back up each other right down to the last man no matter of his arrogance or his idiocy, such as Sawyer’s death wish and Curt’s mouth. Ya’ll fight the good fight, hence the team’s name. We also fight for what is right and fair, but we’re more of a trial and error team, an experiment by our manager and friend.
[Burke smiles so that he can try to break the serious nature of the promo.]
Burke:
The three of us; Curtis, Luke, and myself were all trained by Mike Sloan and whether he was being an ass of a heel or an angel of a face we found what we needed from his training. Some of us adopted his ability to be an ass and cannot break away from it, the example being Curtis Penn. He’s bold, brash, and an often time inserts his own foot into his mouth.
Then you have Luke, the big ol’ farm hand who is just about as nice and genuine as mom’s apple pie. He’s trying to grasp the wrestling business on a learning curve and one day he might be as good in the ring as he is on the farm, but that day will come. Until then we’ll continue to watch his back, try to help him make the right decisions, and not fall victim to Jeff Andrew’s lackeys like Mike did.
[His smile fades and turns taunt providing the seriousness that is about to be needed.]
Burke:
Then there is myself. There is something to be said about a man who knows his character and self-worth… knowing is ideology down to his very core, however I am no such man. I’ve seen both sides of the fence and I have played this game by both sets of the rules. I am simply a man who will do what he feels is correct and when he decides to do so. I’ve not won any laurels to speak of, I’ve been stabbed in the back more times than I care to count, but I’ve always persevered from the help of Mike Sloan.
So if Mike wants me to be a part of his extravaganza then I will play my part, I will be the conscience of this team and help Luke prosper in his training and help Curt find a mid-ground for all of his rage. I will do my part Voss, Sawyer, and Turner to help you fight the good fight.
As I, too, remain defiant.
[Fade to black.]
