MAXIMUM DEFIANCE Scores Front-Page Coverage In Scotland!

Posted by Lance Warner on 4 Oct 2016

DEFIANCE's latest pay-per-view extravaganza is less than a week away and the presses are ablaze with all the latest news, scoops, and hype for one of the biggest wrestling shows of the year.

While such reports are close to breaking the mainstream in America, however, DEF's latest major show is making major waves across the Atlantic.

Wrestling's popularity was thought to have peaked in Great Britain back in the 1970s, but Andy Murray and Bronson Box's rise to prominence set interest levels through the roof in the early '00s. Now, with Andy and Box still at the top of their games and Cayle Murray's own rise through the ranks, Scotland's enthusiasm for the sport has never been higher, and it's reflected in this week's press.

MAXIMUM DEFIANCE even made the front page of today's edition of the Scottish Sun newspaper. Reporter Danny King wrote: "headlined by Lindsay Troy vs. FIST of DEFIANCE Dan Ryan, MAX*DEF doesn't just feature three of Scotland's most famous sons, but an epic conclusion to one of the biggest rivalries in ths business. All sports fans should consider DEF's latest PPV a must-see."

Aberdeen's Evening Express, meanwhile, were emphatic in supporting their hometown heroes: "Andy Murray is the only man who can credibly lay claim to being Aberdeen's most successful sportsman of all-time, and in Banff's Bronson Box, he has the perfect opponent. Never before has the North-East been represented so strongly in such a high-level fight, and while Box has his detractors, the only thing that could make us more excited for this one is if it was being held in Aberdeen's sold-out Pittodrie Stadium."

The EE's back-page spread featured a full feature on Cayle Murray and his focus for DEF*MAX glory. "The younger Murray has been wrestling with shadows for the best part of two decades. Now, he's finally on the cusp of overtaking his big brother. Curtis Penn is a world-class opponent who'll use every dirty trick in the book to pull-off the win, but Cayle's already performed one miracle this year in defeating Eric Dane: don't be surprised if he does it again."

We'll bring you more MAXIMUM DEFIANCE preview content throughout the week.
