Aftershock Aftermath: Words from the NEW Southern Heritage Champion!

Posted by Lance Warner on 30 Mar 2015

Ladies and Gentleman, we are one day removed from Aftershock and what a doozy it was! With the event starting to settle and the aftermath starting to emerge, I was surprised to see a certain individual in the Wrestle-Plex earlier today. That’s right folks, the NEW Southern Heritage Champion was in the house and was kind enough to share some thoughts with us before leaving the building.

Want to know what we asked him and what he said? Check out the rest after the jump!

His Match with Frank Holiday: “Personal feelings aside, that was one hell of a match. Like we both said, we were going to tear this bitch down and that’s exactly what we did. I have respect for what Frank did in that ring and we both gave it our all. At the end of the day, I was able to walk away the champion, and fulfill my dream of becoming a champion. We stole the show last night and while other events may have everyone talking about, at the end of the day, what matters is what happens between the two bells, and Frank and I knocked it out of the park.”

Post-Match Events with Frank Holiday: “Listen, he’s upset. He lost the match. Lost his title. So I get the fact that he is upset. I tried to bury the hatchet though. We both said things leading up to the match that we both regret. Things were getting testy and outside influences were playing their part. I extended my fist to him last night and I meant it. I just hope Frank can move past it all.”

The Beatdown by Mushigihara: “He has been looking to stake his claim and he decided to make his mark after that brutal match. It wasn’t lost to me that he wasn’t even on the damn card. Still, any bitch can sneak up on someone. It takes a man, a warrior, to stand toe-to-toe with someone and put it all on the line. So if Mushi can pull himself away from the Burger King drive-thru for three minutes, I’ll meet him in the ring and show him where he truly stands in the grand scheme of things.”

The Show Ender: “That was some crazy shit. Dusty was the face of DEFIANCE, but Eugene was our heart, you know? To see what he did, to hear the words that came out of his mouth, they were disheartening to the boys in the back and most importantly, to the fans out in the arena. Then to see Bronson Boxer come out and turn his back as well on everyone? Listen, it might not be my place, but I’m not going to stand by and let those two dictate what happens around here. I won’t stand idly by.”

What’s Next?: “We’ve got a show coming up soon and I’m ready to get out there, greet the fans, and celebrate the victory. Most importantly, it’s time to get back to work. I’ve got the bullseye on my back and I welcome it. You want a piece of this title? Okay, come get it. I can promise you this, you’re going to have to pry my dead fingers off this title. I will be in that ring and I’m going to call out Mushi and he better answer my fucking call. If he doesn’t, I’ll go in the back and pull his fucking ass out before making an example out of him.”

Some strong words from the NEW Southern Heritage Champion, but ones he has proven he can back up. The question is, what awaits him? We will find out soon!
