Jonny Booya challenged Dusty Griffith to a match for the DEFIANCE World Heavyweight Championship on the latest episode of DEFtv. Before the Champ could respond with a yay or nay, the King of Cool and the Mastodon exploded in a shouting match of their own.
After the show was done, I caught up with an already agitated Dusty Griffith, who took a loss to Booya's new friends, Team HOSS when Angel Trinidad caught the champion with his big Pump Kick to score the three count.

[After a brief intro, the video snaps to a scene backstage as Dusty Griffith storms in from the back, clearly pissed off. The run to the top was epic, albeit a long, winding road with a lot of bumps, but now that he's on top of the mountain? To say it's been a bitch so far would be an understatement after just two weeks on the job as the big fish in DEFIANCE.]
[Needless to say, he's not very talkitive and not at all welcoming when his power walk to the locker room is interrupted by DEFIANCE's resident "journalist," Lance Warner.]
Lance Warner:
Dusty... Dusty! Hold on, can I get a word?
[The champ stops, clearly not in the mood, but he takes a deep breath as he clenches his fists before turning to address Warner. When Dusty turns, Lance almost immediately wishes he hadn't, however Griffith doesn't so much as touch him, he just glares with a stone jawed scowl and a raging fire in his eyes.]
Lance Warner:
I know you're not exactly wanting to talk right now, but I have a job to do as well...
Dusty Griffith:
Whatever, brother... Just get on with your questions.
Lance Warner:
Earlier tonight, you were challenged by...
[Warner doesn't get the rest of his question out as Dusty butts right the hell in and takes over.]
Dusty Griffith:
Yes... The answer is yes.
Lance Warner:
But I hav...
Dusty Griffith:
You're asking about Jonny Booya, yeah? You're asking if I'm going to accept his challenge, right?
[Warner nods, though a little sheepishly given that Dusty's glare is directed him.]
Dusty Griffith:
Then I say again, yes. Jonny Booya wants to be the first of Ed's boys to try and take my life's work away from me? He wants the belt, he can have it... If he can beat me, he can have it and be the King of Cool, Jonny Booya, World Champion...
[He leans down, getting closer to Warner.]
Dusty Griffith:
If...
[With that Griffith spins back around and heads away from Warner, who exhales a huge sigh of relief that he didn't get worse from an angry Dusty Griffith.]
